At-home workouts are huge time savers, as well as money savers. You don’t need to pay for a gym membership or a fancy boutique fitness studio to get a great workout. A little craftiness can get you fit as a fiddle, all you’ll need are a few popsicle sticks, a cup, and a sharpie. If you happen to have some small hand weights or resistance bands, you can incorporate those too and really give yourself a challenging workout.
We grabbed a handful of wide popsicle sticks and used a sharpie to write down different exercises, like 10 push ups, 20 jumping jacks, 10 burpees, you get the idea. When making your list of exercises, think about ways to get your heart rate up and to work out different areas of the body equally. Arms, abs, core, and cardio are our usual go-tos when looking for different moves. Put the popsicle sticks into a jar or cup and then use them to guide your workout. The goal is for 30 minutes of exercise that gets our heart rate up and helps to build muscle.
Popsicle sticks are for more than crafting! You can use them to get fit too. We love the way this keeps variety in our workout and helps to keep us motivated. When we combine fitness with a little creativity, we’re more inclined to stay motivated and have fun! Check out our video tutorial on how we made our popsicle stick workout. Get the kids involved with this one too! If you’re stuck inside on a rainy day or home because of the snow, these popsicle stick exercises can be a great way to work out some of that youthful energy!
