Raise your hand if you love buying fabric! Keep your hand raised if you sometimes buy fabric solely based on how beautiful it is even if you have no idea how you’re going to use it in a project! Hopefully I’m not the only one with both hands in the air right now! I think this is something all quilters can relate to – how can you pass up lovely patterns and textures when you see them in the store? My husband would tell me to just not go to the craft store, but I think we all know that’s just a silly suggestion.
Rob from Man sewing shows us a really fun and unique way to use up those colorful and textured fabrics in this Strips and Steps quilt!
Isn’t this quilt just so unique? I love the colors and textures in the fabric Rob uses! I never would have thought of a pattern quite like this, but I’m glad someone did! Rob shows us how to make the most of our fat quarter pieces, and how to make your quilt really pop!
Now, some of us are on the conservative side when it comes to color choices in quilts. We like to stay in our safe zone with colors of similar value and weight. Rob, however, is perfectly comfortable jumping outside of the safety zone and just going for it with these bold and bright “steps” in his quilt! See how everything comes together in the video below!
