Supermarket chain Publix is recalling an undetermined amount of ground beef products sold in its Florida stores due to concern of E. Coli contamination.
There are a number of ground beef products in question, including bacon and cheddar burgers, ground chuck, jalapeno and cheddar sliders, mesquite seasoned ground chuck burger, blue cheese meatballs, stuffed peppers, Swiss and mushroom sliders, and Spanish meatballs. All products being recalled by the USDA were shipped to Florida Publix stores in two dozen counties, including Citrus, Brevard, Hillsborough, St. Lucie, and Sarasota. Purchase dates were between June 25th and July 31st.
According to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, 18 people became ill between July 5th and July 25th. Most people affected were from Florida and all consumed ground chuck products from various Publix stores.
