Jameson Whiskey Donated Money To Support Bartender After Bars Were Shut Down On St. Patrick’s Day

The ongoing coronavirus outbreak is causing all sorts of changes to our daily routines. As these measures continue to be taken, all sorts of employment sectors are being affected. Bars and restaurants have been closing their doors in hopes of mitigating the spread of the disease. Obviously, it should go without saying that St. Patrick’s Day celebrations have been affected greatly.

Jameson Irish Whiskey could not sit idly by and watch these bartenders go without. As you may have imagined, holidays like these are a big deal for bartenders. This is one of their biggest nights of the year from a tip standpoint. That’s why Jameson has decided to make a massive pledge to the United States Bartenders’ Guild, writing a check to the tune of $500,000.

This brand is one of the main staples of the holiday. In light of recent events, it is easy to see why they would want to give back to those who are given the most. Neighborhood bartenders play such an important role in our reveling. When they tweeted the announcement, they did so with a heavy heart. They simply wanted bartenders to have at least one piece of good news on March 17.

The celebrations are not going to be quite the same this year. We are all being encouraged to stay home and engage in social distancing. The bars and restaurants have been asked to close, in order to remove the temptation. The charity that they have chosen is designed to foster a greater sense of community between all of the bartenders out there.

Additional donations can be offered by those who are looking to pitch in and help bartenders out during the COVID-19 outbreak. As local restaurants and bars are forced to close their doors for the foreseeable future, their staff members are now being forced to scramble to make ends meet. Those who are in need of assistance are more than welcome to head to the United States Bartenders’ Guild website to apply.

The open letter from Jameson touched our hearts and we hope that it touched theirs, too. We wish those who have lost their jobs all of the best going forward. Please be sure to pass this information along to all those who are looking to assist their local bartender right now.
