Caffeine After 3
We’ve all been guilty of that late afternoon coffee as a pick-me-up during a particularly long day. The caffeine may make you feel more alert and productive, but it also increases your stress hormone and can make you agitated and anxious, especially when you’re trying to get to sleep at night. Some studies even show that caffeine can stay in your system for up to 12 hours, depending on how sensitive you are to it. And it’s not just coffee you need to worry about! Tea has a lot of caffeine, as well as protein bars, and chocolate. You’ll also want to steer clear of too much sugar (as a general rule of thumb) but especially if you find yourself having a hard time getting to sleep at night!
