How To Make A Table From An Old Dresser Drawer

We love giving new life to old furniture! Sometimes we get inspired to put a new coat of paint on something we already have, and sometimes inspiration strikes when we’re out at our local thrift shop. The project below falls under the second category. This cute little side table can easily be put together using an old dresser drawer and some unfinished spindles you can pick up at your local hardware store for a few dollars. Go ahead and check out this creative, eclectic project!

Grab an old drawer either from a dresser you don’t use anymore or from a thrift store dresser you find for cheap. (Don’t worry about the rest of the dresser going to waste – we have projects for the whole piece!)

Next, measure and cut your spindles, and then attach them to the corners of your drawer. You can take your measurements beforehand and then have them cut your spindles when you purchase them at the hardware store.

Once your spindles are secure, measure and cut a piece of plywood, attaching it to the bottom of the spindles. This will create a little shelf, as well as add stability to the finished piece.

Once the shelf is attached, add on the feet of the table and then screw on some wheels. Of course, the wheels are optional, but if you’re wanting to use this as a serving cart, they will certainly come in handy!

At this point, all that’s left to do is remove the hardware, clean and sand everything, and then paint it! You can stick with a classic white color like they did below, or you can switch things up and get creative with chalk paints and different finishes. If you end up not liking the finished product – you have plenty of spare drawers to get it right!

Isn’t this just the most adorable little side table? It makes a great dry bar, tea cart, or just about anything else you can think of. Go ahead and watch the video below for more details and a complete supply list.
