This Couple’s Cruise Was Canceled So They Recreated The Experience At Home

The world is different this week than it was last week. People everywhere are being asked to stay inside and put life on hold. This includes any vacations that they may have been waiting for. It can be a difficult task but health experts feel that it is what we need to curb the coronavirus pandemic. Just because you are inside, however, does not mean you have to avoid fun altogether. One couple shows us how it is done with their at-home “cruise.”

When the Facebook page, It’s Gone Viral, posted the video, it was an instant hit. They were an older couple and you can see them resting their feet up against the television stand and watching an ocean scene on the TV in front of them. You can also see that they are well prepared, thanks to the toilet paper they have stocked near the TV.

As the video pans out, you see the couple sitting in deck chairs with robes on and holding a drink in their hands. The woman is even wearing her best sunhat and sunglasses.

They bring it all to a head when the air horn blasts to signal the cruise staycation is underway.

Over 4 million people have already watched the video on Facebook. They’re watching it for the right reason, we could all use a laugh.

“Really great,” says one of the 19,000 commenters. “My heart goes out to all of you lovely people who had booked cruises. Let’s hope you can still go at a later date. We’ve been on three, every one totally different, on small ships, and have thoroughly enjoyed every one, and there are still some I would like to do at a later date.”

Just in case you were curious, they seem to be watching the “Oceanview, Cruiseship Balcony” video on YouTube. It plays for over an hour so if you are interested in re-creating your own cruise, you might want to give it a try.
