Since bananas have a good amount of fiber in them, they are known to help solve a multitude of digestion issues. In fact, bananas have two kinds of fiber- pectin, which decreases as the banana ripens, and resistant starch – which is found in unripe bananas. Both of these fibers end up escaping the digestion process and ends up in the large intestine. This is a good thing! The fiber is good for beneficial gut bacteria.
