See our top ten tips for packing efficiently, and let us know what your favorite traveling tip is in the comments below!

1. Folding Clothes

Folding clothes into your suitcase is soooo ten years ago. Nowadays, we know that rolling your clothes is much more space efficient. Tightly rolled clothes take up less space, and they are less prone to getting deep wrinkles from the creases of folding. Rolling clothes is how backpackers are able to fit months’ worth of clothing into a single backpack. If you haven’t tried this method, what are you waiting for?

2. Not Making A List

This may seem like a no-brainer, but you should always make a packing list. The more specific your packing list, the better. Instead of writing out, “3 shirts, 2 sweatshirts, 2 pairs of pants, etc.,” actually take time to plan each outfit for each day. For example, “Monday: Outfit = Skinny jeans with the black blouse and teal camisole, Shoes = black flats.” Remember to think about the activities you’ll be doing on your trip, and if you’ll need different evening wear. Another tip is to think about clothing items that can be worn multiple times as a part of different outfits. You can probably get several outfits from one pair of jeans, so no need to pack multiple. Keep your wardrobe neutral so you can mix and match without having to back a bunch of extra outfits.
